Energy Efficiency Event of 2023
EnergyLab Cambodia, in collaboration with EuroCham Cambodia and Sevea, supported the first Energy Efficiency Event of 2023 to attendees representing the private sector, NGOs, and CSOs. It presented the importance of the National Energy Efficiency Policy, as well as the Cambodia Energy Efficiency Competition program; a program pioneered and led by Sevea (and fondly supported by EnergyLab and Eurocham). The event took place on April 06, 2023.
Additionally, a panel discussion was held with energy efficiency experts that highlighted the importance of Energy Efficiency measures, as meeting both carbon emission reduction targets and significant financial saving opportunities. All identified energy conservation as an area potentially offering rapid results with limited costs, providing that behavioural change measures can be implemented and sustained over time. The need to support technical shifts in industrial, residential, and transportation sectors has to be matched with the implementation of new standards (such as the MEPS), currently being developed by the public sector, as well as a more advanced public procurement system.
